New Patients

Start Today with a Convenient and Affordable Mental Health Evaluation

During this evaluation, you will meet with a provider to understand the reasons for seeking treatment and to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Topics covered during the evaluation include:

Establishing Care / Clinical services

For first time patients, you give consent for yourself/child to receive a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. Establishment of a doctor-patient relationship will be a mutual decision following the initial evaluations. In the event that it is determined that your needs would be better served under a different model of care or with a different provider, I will provide you with appropriate referrals.

Patient Evaluation of other conditions:

We will explore your current symptoms and review your medical and mental health history, including any previous treatments you have received. Our provider will also screen for common psychiatric disorders, discuss your medical and family history, and learn more about you and your life. This process may take more than one appointment.

The initial consultation is an opportunity for you and your provider to determine if this is a good fit for your psychiatric care. Your provider will discuss various treatment options with you, including the pros and cons of each, and may request medical records or order laboratory tests.

Reasons for Seeking a New Patient Evaluation:

  • Second opinion regarding diagnosis, treatment setting, psychotherapy, and/or medications
  • Unclear diagnosis
  • Illnesses that have proven resistant to standard treatment
  • Conditions complicated by substance abuse and/or by medical illness
  • New onset of psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional problems
  • Seeking a fresh perspective on their mental health concerns
